Accreditation
Intent
At Greenfields Specialist School for Communication our accreditation builds across Key Stage 4 into Key Stage 5. Our intent is provide our pupils with meaningful accreditation which will develop and extend their learning and opportunities for life beyond GSSC, with an emphasis on independence, communication and life skills, promoting physical and emotional wellbeing.
Implementation
As part of their curriculum at GSSC, pupils within Key Stages 4 and 5 have the opportunity to work towards a range of accreditation across varying levels of achievement. Our pupils accreditation is delivered across the curriculum, providing opportunities for pupils to transfer existing skills into other areas of learning.
All pupils have a pathway of accreditation which develops existing achievements building on prior learning so that pupils achieve higher level of accreditation as they progress through Key Stage 4 to Key Stage 5. At Key stage 5 Café Laurel (our onsite pupil led Café can also be accessed to support accreditation and community-based learning opportunities.
Our current accreditation offer includes:
- Arts Award (Discover and Explore/Bronze/Silver/Gold)
- AQA Unit Awards (Pre-Entry and Entry Level)
- Duke of Edinburgh Award (Modules or Bronze Award)
- OCR Life and Living Skills (Entry Level 1/2/3 at Unit through to Diploma Level)
- OCR Entry Level English, Maths and Science (Entry Level 1/2/3)
We are continuing to develop the range of accreditation that we offer to our pupils dependent on each individual cohort.
Impact
