Key Stage 5

Pupils at Key Stage 5 are not required to wear uniform.  In preparation for life after GSSC we encourage our Key Stage 5 pupils to wear ‘smart casual’ clothing.  We are aware that for some of our pupils continuing to wear uniform provides meaning for them in relation to where they are going that day and welcome any pupil for whom this approach is necessary.

Footwear

We would encourage all parents and carers to ensure that the footwear that their young person wears protects their feet in school.  We have many pupils in wheelchairs so therefore, we request that pupils wear closed toe and heel shoes.

PE

A plain white T-shirt and plain black, blue or grey shorts or tracksuit bottoms are required for PE.  Plimsolls and/or trainers as appropriate for each individual pupils.

Swimming/Hydrotherapy

Swimming costume/trunks, towel, brush, comb, shower gel, waterproof swim pants (as appropriate to each pupil).  Please check with class Teachers.

Forest School

If your young person is taking part in Forest Schools a list of suitable clothing will be sent home in advance of the lessons.  This will most likely include warm clothing (hat, gloves) trousers, long sleeved top and wellington boots.

Options Groups and Post 16

If your young person is taking part in Options Groups or Post 16 Consortium and requires specialist clothing, this will either be provided as part of the course i.e. coveralls and steel toecap boots for College or you may be asked to send an item into school i.e. an old shirt for art groups etc…
